ASCEND is a student leadership convention for Apostolic students ages 12 and up in grades 7th- 12th grade. With 180 categories to choose to compete in, there is something for every student to develop talents, build relationships with fellow Apostolic young people, and grow as leaders.
This years competition will be in Lake Williamson Christian Center in Carlinville, IL!

About Ignite Learning Center
Our Mission
Ignite Learning Center is a Christian school and educational resource center committed to achieving academic excellence, and developing Christlike character. It is our mission to be an educational resource for families with diverse learning needs, serving students enrolled in our academy, and signed up through our learning Center. Our school does not discriminate against race, color of skin, or religious preference.
Our History
Founded in 2021, we started as an in-person school but saw that we could serve more students and meet a greater need through a virtual platform. Our founder is a mother of children with specific learning needs who has home-schooled for more than 13 years. They found that non-traditional learning was what their own children needed. Our founders saw what was working with their own children and knew that God was leading them to meet a need for others.
Ignite is a virtual academy and resource learning center that supports families with home education needs. We use learning management systems to create individual learning paths that are specific to each student's academic needs.
Our resource center works with families that are homeschooling and who need something more for their children. The resource center is a place for families to ask questions and gain access to specific resources such as curriculum, tutoring, book clubs, and virtual social hang-outs.
Our academy serves as a virtual school. Students in our virtual academy are set up on an individual learning path and are working with our teachers throughout the school year. Students meet in our virtual classrooms where teachers can observe and work with students throughout the school day.
All of our programs are integrated, meaning we have students with disabilities and all types of learning needs. Because each student is set up on their own learning path, there is no intimidation with peers who are in the same grade working on different grade levels or who have been set-up with different goals. Everyone has a place and can be themselves when they are in our programs. We do not have IEPs or 504s, each student is on an individual learning plan and lessons are differentiated based on the student's individual needs.
Our Faculty
Our faculty members are dedicated professionals passionate about teaching and committed to helping our students. Our teachers strive to create individualized learning paths that meet the needs of each student.
Our administrator, Shelli Allen, has a BS in Special Education and minored in Autism, she has a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in educational technology, and currently working on her PhD in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
